Monthly Kids Competition Training
Preparing Young Athletes for Success
At Trinity Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, we believe that competition is about far more than winning medals. It is an opportunity for children to develop resilience, confidence, discipline and the ability to perform under pressure. These are skills that benefit them both on and off the mats.
To better support our young athletes, we are introducing our Monthly Kids Competition Training sessions. These sessions are specifically designed for Trinity students who are preparing for competitions or who would like to begin competing in the future.
Why Competition Training?
Our regular classes build excellent Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fundamentals, confidence and self-defence skills. Competition training takes those foundations a step further by focusing on the unique demands of tournament environments.
Students will learn how to:
Compete with confidence.
Develop effective competition strategies.
Improve their stand-up and takedowns.
Build match fitness and endurance.
Understand scoring and competition rules.
Stay calm under pressure.
Learn good sportsmanship and competition etiquette.
The goal is not simply to win competitions—it is to help children become better martial artists and better people.
Small Groups. Individual Coaching.
Unlike large competition camps, our sessions maintain a maximum ratio of: 1 Instructor for every 6 Students
This ensures every child receives:
Individual coaching
Personalised feedback
Technical corrections
Tactical advice
Close supervision throughout the session
We believe quality coaching is far more valuable than simply having more students on the mats.
Led by Three Black Belts
Each session will be taught by three experienced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belts, giving students access to a wealth of knowledge and individual attention throughout the training.
Whether your child is preparing for their first tournament or already competing regularly, they'll receive guidance from coaches who understand both the technical and mental aspects of competition.
Curriculum Designed by World Champion Marcelo Gomide
The competition curriculum has been designed by World Champion and seasoned competitor Marcelo Gomide.
Drawing on years of international competition experience, Marcelo has developed a structured program that progressively teaches the skills young athletes need to perform confidently and safely in competition.
Each monthly session builds on previous training, allowing students to continually improve throughout the year.

It is about learning to challenge yourself, showing respect for your opponents, supporting your teammates and growing through every experience—whether you win or lose.
Our coaches focus on creating an encouraging environment where every child feels supported while developing the skills needed to compete with confidence.
If your child is interested in taking their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to the next level, our Monthly Kids Competition Training is the perfect opportunity to develop alongside experienced coaches and like-minded teammates.
